This video does not show a classic time-lapse, but a new interpretation of the technique. Instead of accelerating the passage of time Tubelapse the rhythm of the time-lapse in order to create movement based on the „Circle Line“ in London.
A flowing stream of images is created from individual photographs of the station signs on the London Underground Circle Line. Station after station is strung together, creating the impression of a continuous journey along the line - from the passenger's perspective.
The video is designed as a loop and allows the beginning and end to merge into one another. In this way, the circular line is not only shown, but made tangible: as a continuous journey through familiar names, places and spaces in between.
Tubelapse sees itself as a playful approach to time, movement and perception - and as a visual translation of a line that repeatedly encounters itself.
