For the travel documentary „Winter journey to the Arctic Circle - With the Nordland Railway through Norway“ I was allowed to record the official soundtrack „Wanderlust Railway“ compose and produce.
The documentary accompanies an extraordinary train journey through wintry Norway: from snow-covered forests, frozen fjords and spectacular landscapes up to the Arctic Circle - embedded in the special atmosphere of the Nordic darkness and the long winter.
Music plays a central role in such a film: it carries emotion, lends depth to images and intensifies the experience of coldness, movement and longing at the same time. With „Wanderlust Railway“ I tried to capture precisely these moods - dynamically and sensitively at the same time. The score helps the viewer not only to see the journey, but to feel it atmospherically.
The film was first broadcast on NDR television on 27 December 2019 and can be accessed via the ARD Mediathek.
